Enjoy the raceThe second annual USA Pro Challenge will take place Monday, August 20 through Sunday, August 26, 2012. For seven consecutive days, the world’s top cyclists will race through 12 host cities from Durango to Denver. This is one of the largest cycling events in United States history and our city will be a part of it.

Montrose will host the Day 2 Start for the USA Pro Challenge on Tuesday, August 21, 2012.  Officials are expecting anywhere from 10,000 to 15,000 spectators to line the race route in Montrose, while millions more around the country and world will watch the race live on television and online.

While the race will serve as an excellent opportunity to showcase our community, it will involve significant road closures and travel delays, particularly in the city’s core. Residents, businesses and the traveling public are advised to take note of the specific road closure information included on this Web page and plan ahead to avoid any unnecessary inconvenience.
